The Soap and Detergent Association (SDA), The Home of the U.S. Cleaning Product and Oleochemical IndustriesTM, is the non-profit trade association representing manufacturers of household, industrial, and institutional cleaning products; their ingredients and finished packaging; oleochemical producers; and chemical distributors to the cleaning product industry. SDA members produce more than 90 percent of the cleaning products marketed in the U.S. Established in 1926, SDA is dedicated to advancing public understanding of the safety and benefits of cleaning products. SDA and its members are leaders in developing reliable information for characterizing the environmental and human health safety of cleaning product ingredients. SDA has developed this website to serve as a publicly-available repository of outcomes from SDA's research and technical programs. Most of the scientific information relates to the safety of cleaning products and their ingredients, though SDA's technical work on chemical management approaches and general issues undertaken as part of the industry's product stewardship efforts over the years also is presented. Much of this work was conducted in collaboration with industry, non-industry and governmental organizations. Currently, SDA Science presents an initial set of research and technical studies which will be expanded over the coming year as SDA's extensive body of past work is compiled and posted. |
